April update: Trailhead is (unofficially) open + another announcement!

April (snow) showers have brought some big news to Hatfield-McCoy Trail country. We’ve been telling you about the brand new Hatfield-McCoy Trails visitors’ center and Pocahontas trailhead directly across the road from us; well, it’s finally open! Though the grand opening is at a date yet to be determined, the building is staffed, so you can stop in and get official HMT gear, trail passes, and park your trailer if you’re just coming in for a day ride! Four Wheeler Heaven is now at the epicenter of West Virginia and Virginia’s off-road trails, and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate this milestone with our guests!

We also saw some good news about the future Warrior Trail System in the newspaper this week. The Warrior System, which is still under construction, will cover areas between War and Welch, and will also include a connector from the Indian Ridge system to Welch and the new Warrior Trails! Hatfield-McCoy Trails says they hope to have the new trails open by Labor Day. That means we could have a lot more brand new trails just in time for the fall riding season this year!

Finally, we are working on a new amenity for our guests who are feeling extra adventurous: tablet computers preloaded with West Virginia trail maps! The map will include both Hatfield-McCoy trails and other well-known trails in southern West Virginia. These maps are frequently requested by guests and asked about on online ATVing groups, so we are excited to be able to offer this technology for our guests this year! If you have already made your reservation, and are interested in renting a tablet during your stay, please email us and let us know!

We still have plenty of summer availability in our 2BR/1BA Coaldale Condo unit, and late summer and fall availability in the Blizzards Roost. Make your reservation online with us now at fourwheelerheaven.com, and we’ll see you on the trails!
