Big news from the trails this morning, as Hatfield-McCoy Trails has announced new connectors leading to the City of Welch and the Town of Kimball! Also, Pocahontas Trail 15 now officially extends to the new Pocahontas trailhead and visitors center in Coaldale, which is right across Route 52 from Four Wheeler Heaven!
In the new trail maps released today, a new Trail 29 branches off from the Indian Ridge / Pinnacle Creek connector and heads into the town of Kimball. It continues on a paved road to the City of Welch, which features the iconic Sterling Drive In, places to fuel up, a movie theater, and plenty of coal country history! This comes in preparation for the opening of the Warrior Trail System over Labor Day Weekend, which will also connect to Welch and give riders many more miles of trails to enjoy! Read more about the new connectors here from the Bluefield Daily Telegraph.
Also updated on the Pocahontas map is Trail 15, which now continues past Trail 12 for about 1 1/2 miles to the new Pocahontas trailhead and visitors center in Coaldale. That means Four Wheeler Heaven is now officially a trailfront lodging provider!
Just in time for all the good news, we finished opening up our heated outdoor swimming pool for the summer. It’s free to use for all of our guests! Check real-time availability online now and start planning your trip to Four Wheeler Heaven!
