After more than a year, Hatfield-McCoy Trails’ new Pocahontas trailhead and visitors center across from Four Wheeler Heaven in Coaldale, WV is nearly complete! Hatfield-McCoy Trails posted this update to its Instagram page on December 6:

Today’s the day – the 2018 Hatfield-McCoy Trails permits are now on sale!

The first flakes of snow have fallen at Four Wheeler Heaven, but don’t let that stop you from coming to the trails! November brings cooler temperatures, colorful leaves and great riding. Here’s a look at upcoming availability.

After we suggested an alternate route around the mining activity set to take place between the Pocahontas and Indian Ridge trail systems, Hatfield-McCoy Trails has marked one of our suggestions as an official trail!

On Hatfield McCoy Trails’ updated trail maps, the Pocahontas / Indian Ridge connector (Trail 15) as well as several Indian Ridge trails have been closed for an upcoming surface mining operation.
